Mooring devices and mooring system manufacturing methods for ships

Mooring refers to the act of securing a vessel to a permanent structure, which will be referred to as a mooring point in the following text. The ship can be fixed to the mooring point to prevent it from moving freely on the water in advance. Mooring anchors fix the position of the vessel relative to a certain point on the bottom of the waterway, without the need to connect the vessel to the shore.

Mooring points can be any type of coastal fixing device from trees and rocks to specially constructed areas such as docks, docks, breakwaters, bridge piers, anchor buoys, and/or mooring buoys.

Mooring is usually accomplished using thick ropes called mooring ropes or mooring ropes. These ropes can be fixed to the deck fittings on the ship at one end, and to fittings such as mooring pillars, rings, and ship cast mooring ears at the other end.

Mooring usually requires cooperation between onshore personnel and onboard personnel. Heavy mooring ropes are usually transmitted from larger vessels to shore personnel through smaller weighted throwing lines. The mooring rope is pulled to the shore by throwing the cable, and then manually connected to the mooring point by shore personnel. Once the mooring rope attaches to the mooring point, it will be tightened. Giant ships typically use heavy machinery, such as so-called mooring winches or winches, to tighten their mooring ropes.

Usually, multiple mooring ropes are needed to secure the vessel. Heavier cargo ships may require more than ten mooring ropes, while smaller ships can typically be moored with two to six mooring ropes.

Therefore, the mooring of ships involves heavy labor intensity and may pose a risk of injury to onshore personnel. In addition, mooring operations are very time-consuming and must be planned in advance to ensure assistance from shore during the mooring period.

Therefore, there is a need for devices and systems for securing ships to mooring points, which alleviate, mitigate or solve existing shortcomings and provide convenient and less labor-intensive mooring operations.

A mooring device for fixing a ship to a mooring point has been disclosed. The mooring device includes a main body, which has a guiding section and an accepting section for accepting the mooring point. The guiding section is arranged along the periphery of the receiving section, with an arc-shaped shape and a central axis. The mooring device further includes a guiding arc, which is arranged in the guiding section of the main body, wherein the guiding arc is arranged concentric with the central axis of the guiding section and can rotate around the central axis. The mooring device further includes a capture device arranged at the circumference of the guiding arc for capturing and holding the rope, and the guiding arc includes an open section to allow the mooring point to enter the receiving section. The guiding arc is configured to rotate in one direction around the receiving section of the main body, so that when the mooring point is located in the receiving section, the capture device forms a trajectory around the mooring point, so that when the rope is captured and held by the capture device, the rope surrounds the mooring point located in the receiving section. One or more edges of the receiving section can be smoothed, such as rounded, to reduce wear on the rope sliding along the edges of the receiving section.
